oakridge cyclone relief activity

Team Oakridge as the first step, to support the needy with food and water, initiated the Rice Bucket Challenge across its Hyderabad and other campuses. In a matter of 48 hours, the campuses collected 16 tons of rice. Rice along with 7,000 liters of drinking water and 15,000 biscuit packets were sent to the city on a war footing basis. Students and Teachers of Oakridge took part in the distribution drive across the city.
Oakridge Vizag also adopted 4 villages near the Tagarapuvalsa campus and provided multiple tanks of water and food packets.
The other timely action for the cause, taken by Oakridge, which was much applauded, was to announce Cracker-Free Diwali in the city of Vizag and around. The initiative was taken to avoid any possible fire accidents because of crackers, as the city was full of dry leaves and debris left by the cyclone. Oakridge drove this activity through Radio and Social media.
Above all, with a long term mission to restore the Green in Vizag, Oakridge has started a plantation drive in the city and has started distributing 1,00,000 (one lakh) plant saplings. Hon. Minister of Education, Mr. Ghanta Srinivas has launched this drive by Oakridge.
