Guest Lecture – “Good Manners”
Ms Neera Prasad was invited for a guest lecture to grade 5. The topic of discussion was GOOD MANNERS. A short film was shown to introduce good manners which motivated all the young minds. Ms Neera spoke on how good manners make a full man. They are very essential for human civilization. Without good manners a man is like a purse without money, even though very attractive from outside. Good manners are the outcome of good breeding. A person who has been brought up in a good environment would have good manners. We may call them the flowers of mankind’s garden. Grade 5 children were highly motivated and enjoyed the session.

Ms Kounine, parent of grade- 4 was invited as a guest.  She did a scientific experiment, which indeed made the students very excited. Students were given a white paper, some lime juice and a stick and were made to write the name, it was later kept under the candle and the magic was seen. Students showed a lot of interest and felt thrilled after getting the result of the experiment.

We invited Ms. Lavanya for a Guest lecture on "Saving Earth" to enlightened our students on how to use the resources on Earth and how to conserve it and what are the effects of pollution on nature. The children were very enthusiastic to listen and actively responded and participated. They also felt responsible for their acts of wasting their available resources and took an oath to save their Mother "Planet Earth".

Expert talk
Grade 5 students had a session with the School Doctor, Dr. Manasa, who shared with the students loads of information on different Medical Apparatus. This Expert Talk was conducted in-line with their present chapter Living Longer and Healthier Lives.
Dr. Manasa has even shown students the First Aid box and spoke about the important components of First Aid Box.
It was a very informative and knowledgeable session, conducted to educate the young minds about the different medical apparatus.

Field Trip to a village to see different types of houses

They were shown the materials like cement, bricks, stones, bamboo and hay, which are used to build houses. They identified different types of houses like Pucca houses, Kuccha houses and temporary houses (tents). The children enjoyed seeing the village scene.

Community Service
Community Service is rich with meaning, action, and the power to make a difference. It is devoted to helping people function the best they can in their environment. This heritage, in which social problems are seen as social concerns, gives contemporary social work its unique character among helping professions.
This weekend our boarders took a session of our school ‘Ayammas’. They explained the basic hygiene and basic etiquettes to them. Children explained them on how to maintain hygiene in dining hall and other areas of the school campus. Children also taught them on various ways of greeting people in English language.
